Here are some quick answers about the card program.
Can only 4-H families sign up for this card?

Families, friends, community members, even friends or relatives around the country can support your 4-H county by using a card that’s good for them, too.

What do we need to do to make sure the card supports our county?

Just tell your friends and family members to designate your county when they sign up!

Where do the card funds we raise go?

100% of the funds raised by your county will go to your county. That is why it’s important you select your county when you sign up for the card.

What will my county’s funds be used for?

The funds are unrestricted. 100% of the funds raised go back to the designated counties by participation. They will not be swept back into the Foundation if not used. Your County team will decide the best use of the funds and work with the local community to set funding goals and uses.

Can I choose my specific club?

The main reason this is not possible is technical on the card processing and reporting side. There is complexity involved with 57 counties, multiple clubs that can change, and multiple ways people would want to make selections.

Can a parent take a 4-H Card out in their child's name?

Currently, the card is available to people 18 and older under their name. GroundSwell has “companion cards” on their product roadmap for parents to get a card in their child’s or guardian child’s name. In the meantime, please start using the 4-H card for a portion of your monthly purchases.

Does this card benefit GroundSwell more than 4-H?

GroundSwell SPC, as a social purpose corporation, channels the majority of its revenue directly to our partners’ causes. The California 4-H Foundation is pleased to partner with GroundSwell SPC. 100% of proceeds from the 4-H Debit Card go directly from the Foundation to your county for unrestricted use.

A grassroots initiative by:

A portion of the proceeds will be used to support 4-H educational programs. No endorsement of the product is implied or intended.
